WWE Digitally Removes Sasha Banks Reference From SmackDown

As the she/hasn’t she been released stories rumble on, WWE has opted to digitally remove a reference to Sasha Banks from this past Friday’s SmackDown.

First picked up on by @WrestleFeatures, a “Sasha Krew 4 Life” sign was rendered blank in WWE.com’s image gallery for this most recent offering from the company’s blue brand. Said sign was initially featured in the background of Raquel Gonzalez celebrating her win over Shayna Baszler to secure herself a spot in the titular women’s ladder match at next month’s Money in the Bank PPV.

Sasha – along with tag partner Naomi – walked out on WWE prior to the 16 May episode of Raw. Unhappy with upcoming creative plans for them, the duo reportedly placed their Women’s Tag Team Titles on the desk of John Laurinaitis before exiting the building.

Since then, WWE has confirmed Banks and Naomi have been suspended without pay, have been stripped of the Women’s Tag Team Championships, and the pair have had all merchandise removed from WWEShop.com. Late last week saw Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. state that the Boss had been released by WWE – with similar stories surfacing elsewhere – although Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment juggernaut has yet to make any statement confirming that Sasha Banks is indeed no longer with the company.
